Angling Club (Green)
When will we see ourselves outside again without worrying for our safety?
When will we see our daughter play outdoors again and explore nature like she used to months ago
For the past few months, all we can do is imagine. She often drew on our walls--trees, flowers, bees, blue skies and all the little things she wished she could find outside.
She helped us with this collection; the Holiday Camp tee is one of her ideas. She wants to go camping when the virus is gone. She keeps on asking us about what it will feels like to be outside again. These questions are never easy to answer.
Holiday Camp tee is a representation of the family bond that we will have someday.
I wrote a short poem at the back saying:
River flows like the ideas of the youth. Wild and free searching for the truth. Every step we take outside another story will unfold. We're never scared. Hear our stories to be told.
May your search through nature lead you to yourself.
The second design is called "Outdoor Experience". I was listening to a 90s song by the Waterboys before I went to sleep and I kept on imagining this scenario in my head: I was standing at the top of a mountain then a butterfly sought rest on my shoulder and started singing Love and Death, "Go ask the springing flowers and the flowing air above. What are the twin born waters and they'll answer death and love, far off in drowsy valleys, where the meadow saffrons blow. The feet of summer dabble, in their coiling calm and slow." The front print is a sketch I made that night. I made abstract drawings of nature's wonders in form of letters that will illustrate the words "Thank You". We couldn't have done it without the help of Mintypapa.
The third design is called "Leap". We watched a nature documentary on YouTube about frogs. Airi is fascinated by animals that she loves to watch them. We learned from the film that frog look to its sides before it leaps. This inspired the quote on the back saying, "Look before you leap." We can apply this too on how we handle things and make decisions. We hope Airi will apply this too when she grows up though not to the point that she's afraid to make mistakes. We want her to always be sure of the things she will do, and not have any regrets.
The last design is an embroidery on a hoodie that shows two people on a boat fishing together. For me, it's my way of showing people how to balance the things around us. We can't walk this world by ourselves. We need a support system that will guide us or even stop us if needed. Plus, I can't afford all the stuff I see on the internet especially the embroidered hoodies from abroad; that's also one of the reasons I decided to go with it.
I hope by reading this, you pictured yourself and your family having a wonderful time after the pandemic. I hope this narrative sparks the joy in your hearts. We will see each other again soon. Stay at home for now. Let us take you to our outdoor experience. Thank you.
